VUSI is an actively managed ETF, designed to provide high levels of current income consistent with preservation of capital. Holdings include government and corporate bonds, asset- and mortgage-backed securities, loans, and derivatives. The funds average portfolio duration is kept to no more than one year, making it less sensitive to interest rate fluctuations. The fund primarily invests in investment-grade debt but may allocate up to 15% to high-yield securities. It also utilizes derivatives such as swaps, options, and futures, for hedging, enhancing returns, and effective cash management. The management team employs an investment process combining macroeconomic views with detailed fundamental analysis and risk management, supported by proprietary research and scenario-based analytics.
