Global Rotation: Uncovering Alpha Beyond US Tech

Four Critical Trends. Five Actionable Moves. Act Early.

A major regime shift is underway across global markets. Capital is rotating away from US mega-cap tech dominance and toward value, energy, international equities, and real assets. This report integrates consensus data with contrarian insights from Morgan Stanley’s latest Asia Economics research to map the opportunity landscape.

The signals are clear: the market is rotating, and the alpha lies in positioning ahead of where capital flows next—not where it has already been.

The convergence of a weakening dollar, record capital flows into Asia, and a dramatic sector rotation creates a rare window of opportunity. Below, we map the four critical trends and five actionable moves.

1. The Great Rotation: Value Surges as US Mega-Caps Lag

The most significant domestic trend is a dramatic rotation from growth to value. While the cap-weighted S&P 500 remains flat year-to-date, this masks a turbulent undercurrent. Value-oriented sectors are posting strong double-digit returns, while Technology and Communications are underperforming significantly.

The S&P 500 Equal Weight Index is outperforming the standard cap-weighted index by nearly 5% and has hit 13 new highs this year—signaling a much broader market rally beneath the surface.
