It accepts checking and savings, certificates of deposit, and individual retirement accounts, as well as provides credit cards. The company also provides commercial loans, such as commercial real estate mortgages and construction loans, small business working capital loans, small business lines of credit, SBA guaranteed loans, and investment property loans. In addition, it offers consumer loans, including automobile, signature, boat, and personal property loans; and real estate loans comprising home equity lines of credit, fixed rate mortgages, adjustable rate mortgages, conventional and jumbo loan programs, first-time home buyer programs, home improvement loans, bridge loans, new home construction loans, and commercial construction loans, as well as second homes/vacation properties, investment, commercial, industrial, and apartment loans. Further, the company provides merchant services; and investment and brokerage services. It operates in Virginia counties of Nottoway, Amelia, Prince Edward, Brunswick, Buckingham, Charlotte, Chesterfield, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, and Powhatan; and the cities of Colonial Heights, Richmond, and Petersburg. The company was founded in 1873 and is headquartered in Blackstone, Virginia.
