BEMD is designed to provide broad exposure to fixed-income securities from emerging markets issuers, including governments and companies with significant ties to these markets. It focuses on securities denominated in hard currencies like USD, Euro, or pound sterling. The investment approach uses fundamental economic research and quantitative analysis to identify undervalued markets, sectors, and securities, targeting those with potential credit upgrades or distinctive characteristics. The fund may invest substantially in high yield bonds. It has no maturity or duration limits and engages in short-term trading to pursue its objective of high total return. Derivatives, such as futures and currency forward contracts, may also be used for hedging, risk management, or return enhancement.
