First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund VIII - FT Vest Laddered U.S. Equity Uncapped Accelerator ETF

BFXU that aims for capital appreciation through a laddered portfolio of four FT Vest US Equity Uncapped Accelerator ETFs. The underlying funds invest in US equities, intended to gain accelerated returns outperforming the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY). The fund-of-funds laddered approach rolls with different target outcome periods and expiration dates, which diversifies the timing of exposure across different target outcome periods instead of a single ETF. The approach aims to mitigate timing risk and benefit from increases in SPYs value at any given time. Upside return is provided by the underlying ETFs with limited upside potential, calculated at the start of each target period and vary depending on market conditions. The ETFs do not participate in gains of SPY, unless they rise above the target threshold at the end of the target outcome period. It forgoes participation if the funds appreciate below the target upside level and may experience losses on a one-to-one basis.
