The AllianzIM U.S. Equity 6 Month Buffer10 Jun/Dec ETF (SIXD) is crafted to replicate the share price movements of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY), its benchmark fund, over a defined investment cycle. It allows investors to capture the SPY's positive returns up to a set maximum gain (or cap). Concurrently, it provides a protective cushion, absorbing the first 10% of any losses the SPY might experience. It's important to understand that both this upside potential and the downside buffer will be diminished after deducting the fund's management charges and various other operational costs.
