Is your portfolio on another level?
After some bad experiences in the stock market, I've become pretty conservative with my investments. I focus mostly on low-risk, low-return areas. Besides traditional stuff like real estate, about 90% of my investments are in the RMB market and around 10% in the USD market. I stick to banks for most of my investments because I trust the pros and my own channels are pretty limited.
Here's how my investments break down:
35% in money market funds (R1) treat as my cash
25% in mutual funds (75% in equity funds, R4 level; 25% in bond funds, R3 level)
7.5% in USD financial products (including bond funds, QDII mutual recognition funds, overseas securities investment funds, etc.)
2.5% in gold ETFs
30% in fixed income investments
For the mutual funds, my equity investments are spread across these sectors:
26% in consumer goods
26% in Hong Kong stocks
18% in technology
18% in cyclical industries
8% in pharmaceuticals and biotech
3% in manufacturing
But in the last two years, my returns have been about -10%. With all the news and public opinion, I'm starting to lose trust in domestic institutions. So, I'm here to learn some basic finance knowledge and, because I'm interested in the financial industry, try investing in new markets and channels, like crypto markets.
