Meta's Groundbreaking AR Glasses to Debut Tonight at Connect 2024

The Meta Connect 2024 Developer Conference is set to take place tonight, where Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will deliver a keynote at 10 AM local time (1 AM Beijing time on September 26). He is expected to unveil significant updates on mixed reality (MR), artificial intelligence (AI), and wearable devices, according to the agenda posted on Meta's official website.

Reports from Business Insider and The Verge indicate that Meta will introduce details about its open-source model Llama, launch the Meta Quest 3S headset, and reveal its first augmented reality (AR) glasses. These AR glasses, rumored for some time, are supported by patents Meta has applied for, combining machine learning, AR, and AI Agents. The device promises to enhance users' visual experiences and provide assistive features for individuals with visual and auditory impairments.

Zuckerberg is expected to officially announce Meta's first AR glasses, codenamed Orion, during his keynote. Meta's CTO, Andrew Bosworth, has praised the device as "the most advanced consumer electronics device to date," highlighting the combination of XR and AI advancements integrated into the product.
