Huawei's HarmonyOS NEXT Debuted as the TOP 3 and TOP 2 Operating System Globally

In terms of the news, at the full-scene new product launch conference called original HarmonayOS night, Huawei officially released the native Hongmeng system HarmonyOS NEXT (HarmonyOS 5.0) which has become the third largest operating system alongside Apple's iOS system and Google's Android system. It also launched the Nova 13 series, WATCH Ultimate Greenfield Legend, and MatePad Pro 12.2-inch Gold Collection Edition.

 

 

According to Yu, in 2019, HarmonyOS NEXT was loved by the majority of users upon its release. Up to now, Harmony occupies the leading position in the Chinese market with over 110 million lines of code, 6.75 million registered developers, and over 1 billion Harmony eco-devices. Its share in the Chinese market has surpassed that of iOS becoming the second-largest operating system. It is also the third largest mobile operating system in the world after Apple iOS and Android. After ten years of development, there are more than 15,000 Harmony native apps and meta-services on the shelves, and the native Hongmeng APP iteration is rapid, almost reaching the amazing speed of one version a day.

 

 

 

At present, WeChat, QQ, Alipay, Taobao, JD, and other Chinese Apps have been developed in HarmonyOS versions. At the conference, industry mainstream applications in China such as Dingding, Alipay, Kingsoft Office, JD, Feishu, etc. sent “congratulatory messages” and indicated that they are fully connected to the HarmonyOS to create the ultimate Harmony eco-experience.The smoothness of Harmony 5.0 has been improved by 30% and the battery life by 56 minutes. Distributed soft bus technology enables 3x the speed of device connection, 4x the number of device connections, and a 20% drop in connection power consumption.

 

 

 

Some analysts expect the launch of Huawei Harmony 5 to further boost its product sales growth. IDC data shows that Huawei once again became the No. 1 shipper in China's smartphone market in the first half of 2024 with a 17.5% market share. According to the latest data from market research firm CINNOResearch, in August 2024, Huawei's domestic sales of cell phones once again surpassed those of Apple.
