On November 13, the eVTOL aircraft leader EHang Intelligence announced that its high-energy, solid-state batteries jointly developed with Xinjie Energy, the International Center for the Promotion of Advanced Technology Applications in Hefei, China, and the Low Altitude Economy Battery Energy Research Institute made a major technological breakthrough: the endurance range of the aircraft equipped with this battery significantly increased by 60% to 90%. The battery made the aircraft the world's first unmanned manned electric vertical take-off and landing (EVTOL) vehicle that completed the flight test.

EHang Intelligence, known as “the first flying car stock”, is a science and technology enterprise focusing on the R&D and manufacturing of unmanned aerial vehicles and overall solutions for the low-altitude economy. It was Founded in 2014 and listed on NASDAQ in 2019. Its important eVTOL products are the EH216-S unmanned manned aerial vehicle, the world's first eVTOL product to obtain a type certificate (TC), a standard airworthiness certificate (AC), and a production license (PC). It is worth noting that the lithium-metal high-energy solid-state battery was co-developed and co-launched with Xinjie Energy, a company specializing in the research, development, and production of high-energy density, high-safety, lithium-metal, and solid-state batteries.

Xinjie's supporter, HaiMuXing, also played a big role in this collaboration. According to the news, Xinjie Energy and HaiMuXing will jointly hold a global conference for the high-performance solid-state lithium battery on November 15.

Industry analysts believed that the league of EHang Intelligence, Xinjie Energy, and HaiMuXing would be conducive to further solving the key technical difficulties, significantly shortening the road to commercialization of their respective products, accelerating the promotion of technological innovation of solid-state batteries, and helping China's strategic emerging industries to seize the biggest share of the global market.
