US Quantum Related Stocks Soared Collectively, Potentially Being a New Investment Opportunity

On November 25, Quantum related stocks in the U.S. market collectively soared. By the close of trading, Quantum Corp (NASDAQ: QMCO) surged 138.44%. Rigetti Computing Inc (NASDAQ: RGTI) soared 58.05%.

The massive surge in quantum stocks is related to the Quantum Embark program announced on Nov. 22 by AWS, Amazon's (NASDAQ: AMZN) cloud computing platform. AWS said that quantum computing could revolutionize the industry by solving problems that traditional computers cannot solve. AWS added that Quantum Embark is a consulting program designed to help customers identify quantum technologies and make informed decisions about long-term quantum roadmaps.

Separately, on November 19, Nvidia announced that it has collaborated with Google Quantum AI to improve the work of its next-generation quantum computing devices by using simulations powered by Nvidia's CUDA-Q platform. This will help overcome one current limitation of quantum computing hardware: noise interference.

On the same day, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Atom Computing released a record-breaking commercial quantum computer supported by quantum bits and planned to deliver it in 2025 to support its cloud services.

With leading technology companies like Google and Microsoft increasing R&D investment in quantum computing technology, the US quantum stocks may have a window of opportunity.

Today, November 26, during pre-market trading hours in the U.S., the quantum sector, which surged yesterday, is mixed, with Quantum Corp plunging 18.93% but Rigetti Computing Inc soaring 5.82%.

Not only the U.S., China's Quantum sector has also received favorable news. In January 2024, China's government co-issued a proposal for developing quantum technology. In March 2024, China's government selected the first batch of launching enterprises, focusing on the quantum information field.

In addition, Chinese scientists have completed the world's largest-scale quantum computing fluid dynamics simulation on China's third-generation superconducting quantum computer, “Origin Wukong,” marking an important progress in solving practical problems with Chinese quantum computing power.
