What is Quantum Computing?

Quantum computing is a new type of computing mode based on the principles of quantum mechanics.
 
Its principles are rather abstruse, and we don't necessarily need to understand them. We just need to know that it's a new way of computing.
 
So, what's the use of this computing method? Well, we have to look at quantum computers.
 
In the theoretical model, a quantum computer is a general-purpose computer reinterpreted by the laws of quantum mechanics.
 
Obviously, when dealing with certain problems, it is much faster than the classical computers (and supercomputers) we are currently using.

In addition, all our current network security encryption systems, including cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, are vulnerable and can be easily broken in the face of the computing power of quantum computers.
 
Can we invest in quantum computing now? Or what should we buy?
 
After understanding what quantum computing is, let's come back to the present.
 
In my previous article, I mentioned that in 2023, the global quantum computing industry was valued at $4.7 billion.
 
According to the estimation of iCV TA&K, by 2035, the global quantum computing industry is expected to exceed $800 billion.
 
It seems to have huge potential. However, due to the extremely unstable state of qubits, errors keep occurring.
 
This requires the development of quantum error-correction technology. At the same time, achieving more stable qubits and building a scalable quantum computer architecture are also issues to be resolved.
 
These technical limitations prevent quantum computers from fully realizing their theoretical computing power advantages at present.
 
Currently, it has only been applied in a very few fields, and a large-scale general-purpose quantum computer with practical value has not been achieved yet.
 
It's still a long way off before large-scale implementation can be achieved.
Due to the long-cycle nature, I don't recommend value investors to buy these stocks because there are many better stocks available.
 
However, NVIDIA's move clearly aims to accelerate the development of quantum computing.
 
There may be some major moves from these technology giants in the future, which could drive the continuous rise of the prices of quantum computing stocks.
 
However, for now, before the "Quantum Day" truly arrives, quantum computing stocks will be repeatedly mentioned.
