World Liberty Financial (WLF), a new crypto platform backed by Donald Trump’s family business, has unveiled a strategic token reserve designed to support leading cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital assets.
The reserve, announced in a statement on X, aims to mitigate market volatility, invest in decentralized finance (DeFi) projects, and build capital reserves. WLF also plans to form strategic partnerships with financial institutions to contribute tokenized assets to the reserve.
Trump’s family business is increasingly tapping into the crypto space for profit. In addition to WLF, the family owns a majority stake in Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which is pivoting to offer crypto-related financial services. Earlier, Trump also launched a personal meme coin, which has raised substantial funds, including $100 million from meme coin sales.
WLF, which was founded just two months before the upcoming U.S. presidential election, is majority-owned by Trump and his subsidiaries, holding 60% of the company. WLF has already raised approximately $500 million through token sales.
At a recent event in New York, Donald Trump Jr. presented WLF’s goal to bridge the gap between the crypto world and traditional retail investors, such as teachers and firefighters. He also emphasized the need for a regulatory framework that would allow cryptocurrencies to thrive, calling digital currencies “the future of finance” and a key part of America’s economic dominance.
