Data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on the 11th shows that from January to February 2025, the overall auto industry in China maintained steady growth, while the new energy vehicle (NEV) segment stood out with exceptionally strong performance.

During this period, total vehicle production and sales reached 4.553 million and 4.552 million units respectively, marking year-on-year increases of 16.2% and 13.1%. In contrast, NEV production climbed to 1.903 million units, and sales reached 1.835 million, representing a 52% growth year-on-year for both figures. NEVs now account for 40.3% of all new car sales in the country, while export volumes surged by 54.5% to 282,000 units.

A representative from the association noted that post-Spring Festival, production activities accelerated as companies launched new products and promotional campaigns. The expansion of the “old-for-new” policy, along with ongoing technical upgrades and refreshed product offerings, has boosted market momentum. These factors have contributed to a solid foundation for a strong start to the first quarter.
