On April 10th, cryptocurrencies experienced a rebound, with Bitcoin briefly recovering to $83,000.

1. The U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing to discuss cryptocurrency market structure legislation, marking an important step forward for the bill. Lawmakers debated the regulatory framework for digital assets, aiming to establish clear rules for cryptocurrency exchanges and token issuance. This hearing paves the way for final legislation that could change the regulatory landscape for the U.S. crypto industry. Supporters of the bill believe it will bring more certainty and investor protection to the market.

2. Farside Investors released the March 2025 Bitcoin mining production update: All major listed mining companies have published their data, making it a record month since Bitcoin halving, with a total of 3,648 Bitcoins mined.

3. According to CoinDesk, credit rating agency Moody's pointed out in a Wednesday report that while fund tokenization is thriving, investors should not ignore the serious risks involved. Cristiano Ventricelli, Vice President and Senior Analyst at Moody's, said that when evaluating tokenized funds, investors need to weigh their benefits against risks associated with underlying technology, security, scalability, and regulatory changes.

Moody's mentioned that many fund managers lack experience in the early stages of the tokenized market development, with small teams and short track records, posing key person risk. This means over-reliance on a few individuals, where key executive departures or weak governance structures could shake fund stability. Thus, they urge fund teams to diversify responsibilities and strengthen risk management.

Blockchain disruption is another risk, stemming from the novelty of the technology. While smart contracts can improve operational efficiency, they are vulnerable to coding flaws or malicious attacks. Using public, permissionless blockchains increases accessibility but also increases potential attack risks. Moody's recommends maintaining off-chain backups and strictly auditing smart contracts.

Redemption mechanisms are also a weak point. Moody's encourages tokenized funds to allow redemptions in both stablecoins and fiat currencies to buffer against events like stablecoin de-pegging or blockchain disruptions.

Furthermore, tokenized funds operate in different jurisdictions with varying regulatory requirements. This patchwork regulation increases the risk of legal obstacles for investor claims. While some funds adopt structures that give token holders direct claims on underlying assets, enforceability depends on local laws and the completeness of fund documents.
