Top 20 U.S. Stocks by Trading Volume: DBS Analyst Raises Nvidia Target to $180

The top-ranked US trade by volume, Tesla, closed up 1.08% with $24.471 billion in volume. Though Tesla and Waymo and other companies are racing to develop Robotaxi and have gained investor hype, not everyone believes this trend is truly justified.
HSBC analysts pointed out in a new report released on Monday that the potential market for Robotaxi is “greatly overestimated” and warned that it may take many years to achieve profitability.
Analysts said that the widespread belief that Robotaxi is more profitable than traditional human-driven taxis is based on a misconception.
Although Robotaxi does not need to pay driver wages, it faces a large number of “overlooked” additional costs that will seriously erode profits, “... it will take 7 to 8 years after launch to break even.”
The second-ranked US trade by volume, Nvidia, closed down 0.52% with $22.381 billion in volume. DBS analyst Fang Boon Foo raised Nvidia’s target price from $160 to $180, maintaining a “buy” rating.
The analyst pointed out that global demand for Nvidia’s AI accelerators remains strong, with expected revenue of about $45 billion in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, slightly up from the previous quarter. This is mainly due to the continued oversupply of orders for “Hopper” and “Blackwell” chips.
Although U.S. export controls to China pose risks, Fang Boon Foo said that compliant chip variants under development may help mitigate potential resistance, supporting sustained growth in this market.
The third-ranked US trade by volume, Palantir, rose 4.96% with $11.936 billion in volume. Wedbush maintained its “outperform” rating for Palantir and raised the target price from $140 to $160, citing the company’s strong performance in its AI strategy, as it leads the transformative trend in software AI.
The analyst team led by Daniel Ives said they raised Palantir’s target price due to their recent research and growing conviction in the company’s AI strategy, which are key factors supporting their view of a stock price increase for Palantir in the next 12 to 18 months.
Analysts believe that in the coming years, Palantir “has the potential to become the next Oracle.” Although its current valuation is high, they believe the company will remain a core winner in the multitrillion-dollar AI spending in the coming years.
The fourth-ranked US trade by volume, Apple, fell 1.20% with $8.057 billion in volume.
Apple has recently faced pressure to reassess its corporate strategy, particularly in improving its performance in the AI sector. This year, Apple’s stock has underperformed, raising market concerns about its valuation and increasing dissatisfaction with the company’s lag in AI functionality.
Investors are beginning to urge Apple to break from its traditionally conservative approach, exploring major mergers and acquisitions and more aggressive talent recruitment to accelerate its AI development.
Citi analysts pointed out that historically, Apple has not been keen on large-scale mergers and acquisitions, with the 2014 acquisition of Beats being one of its few significant deals.
However, as competitors like Meta invest heavily in AI, Apple’s stock appears lackluster in the industry. This has made investors increasingly anxious, hoping that acquiring a mature AI provider could boost market confidence in Apple.
The fifth-ranked US trade by volume, Strategy, rose 3.78% with $8.018 billion in volume. Data shows that as of Eastern Time on July 14, 2025, the total net inflow of Bitcoin allocated by global listed companies last week was $628 million.
Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) resumed Bitcoin purchases last week, investing a total of $472.5 million to acquire 4,225 BTC at $111,827, bringing its total holdings to 601,550 BTC.
The ninth-ranked US trade by volume, Microsoft, fell 0.06% with $6.053 billion in volume. Melius Research raised Microsoft’s target price from $520 to $595.
The tenth-ranked US trade by volume, Google A shares, rose 0.76% with $5.88 billion in volume. Reports say Google DeepMind successfully absorbed the core team of AI startup Windsurf. Not long ago, OpenAI was negotiating a $3 billion acquisition with Windsurf.
The eleventh-ranked US trade by volume, Coinbase Global, rose 1.80% with $4.883 billion in volume. The Czech National Bank increased its stake in data analytics firm Palantir in the latest quarter and made its first purchase of shares in cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global.
Public filings show the central bank bought 51,732 Coinbase shares, with the new investment valued at approximately $18.1 million.
The fourteenth-ranked US trade by volume, Micron, fell 4.75% with $3.802 billion in volume. Data shows that since the second quarter of 2024, Micron and SK Hynix have seen continuous growth in their DRAM market share, while Samsung’s share has declined.
The eighteenth-ranked US trade by volume, Circle Internet, rose 9.27% with $2.971 billion in volume. Reports from multiple media outlets on July 14, 2025, state that cryptocurrency companies are accelerating their entry into traditional U.S. banking, leveraging the Trump administration’s friendly regulatory environment toward digital assets.
Ripple, Circle, and BitGo have applied for national trust bank charters, which allow them to provide crypto asset custody and payment processing services without needing state-by-state licenses, enabling nationwide operations.
Circle has applied to establish the “First National Digital Currency Bank” to strengthen the USDC stablecoin infrastructure and comply with the GENIUS Act requirements. Ripple has also applied for a Federal Reserve master account to directly hold stablecoin reserves.
Market analysis indicates that the Trump administration’s open stance and progress in stablecoin legislation are driving this trend, though regulatory approval remains uncertain.$NVDA $TSLA $PLTR $AAPL $CRCL $MU $COIN $MSFT
