Market research firm Canalys recently released the preliminary version of the "Global Smartphone Market Share Forecast for the Second Quarter of 2025". Samsung won the championship with a global market share of 19% thanks to the solid performance of the Galaxy A series.

The specific rankings, market share and annual growth rate are as follows:

- Samsung, market share 19%, annual growth rate 3%;

- Apple, market share 16%, annual growth rate -2%;

- Xiaomi, market share 15%, annual growth rate 0%;

- Transsion, market share 9%, annual growth rate -2%;

- OPPO, market share 9%, annual growth rate -3%;

- Others, market share 33%, annual growth rate 0%;

Global smartphone market shipments fell 1% year-on-year in the quarter, the first decline in six quarters. This reflects the cautious sentiment of consumers and the performance of manufacturers against the backdrop of increased global macroeconomic uncertainty and volatility.

Analysts believe that despite the decline of the equipment replacement wave during the epidemic and continued weak consumer demand. However, most manufacturers maintained stable and resilient performance in the second quarter when the market growth slowed down. It’s just that many manufacturers originally had higher expectations in the second quarter, but had to cut production targets to avoid excess inventory.

But the US market is an exception. Manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung and Motorola all maintain high inventory levels and prepare in advance to cope with complex situations.
