The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) announced its Q2 2025 financial results, reporting net revenues of $12.54 billion, a 1% increase compared to $12.36 billion in Q2 2024. The company's net income significantly surged by 58% to $3.81 billion, up from $2.41 billion in the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter were $0.88, also representing a 58% increase year-over-year. These results indicate that the company surpassed the analyst revenue estimate of $12.55 billion and the EPS estimate of $0.83 for the quarter.

Performance Drivers

During the second quarter, global unit case volume saw a slight decline of 1%, primarily due to decreases in Mexico, India, and Thailand, despite growth in Central Asia, Argentina, and China. Price/mix grew 6%, driven by marketplace pricing actions and a favorable product mix. Concentrate sales aligned with unit case volume.

Sparkling soft drinks declined 1% overall, with Trademark Coca-Cola also down 1%. However, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar continued its strong performance with 14% volume growth. Juice, value-added dairy, and plant-based beverages declined 4%, while water, sports, coffee, and tea remained flat.

Strategic Initiatives

The Coca-Cola Company focused on uplifting consumer connections through brand-led marketing, notably with the global relaunch of the "Share a Coke" campaign, which contributed to single-serve transaction growth. Coca-Cola Zero Sugar achieved its fourth consecutive quarter of double-digit volume growth. In North America, the "This is My Taste" campaign for Diet Coke led to its fourth consecutive quarter of volume growth, attracting new consumers.

The company also emphasized its end-to-end revenue growth management (RGM) capabilities. By transforming data into segmented insights, the Coca-Cola system identified new market opportunities, leading to over 130 million additional transactions year-to-date in the juice drinks category, particularly through affordable single-serve offerings in Latin America and India.

Management Outlook

Chairman and CEO James Quincey noted that the company's ability to remain focused and flexible enabled it to stay on course despite a shifting external landscape. He expressed confidence in achieving updated 2025 guidance and longer-term objectives.

For the full year 2025, The Coca-Cola Company expects to deliver organic revenue (non-GAAP) growth of 5% to 6%. Comparable EPS (non-GAAP) growth is projected at approximately 3% versus $2.88 in 2024, including an approximate 5% currency headwind. The company anticipates generating free cash flow, excluding the fairlife contingent consideration payment, of approximately $9.5 billion for the full year.
