QUALCOMM Incorporated's Net Income Soars 25% in Q3 2025
QUALCOMM Incorporated announced strong financial results for Q3 2025, with revenues reaching $10.365 billion, marking a 10% increase from Q3 2024's $9.393 billion. Net income for the quarter also saw a significant rise, up 25% to $2.666 billion compared to $2.129 billion in the same period last year. The company surpassed analyst expectations for revenue of $10.352 billion and EPS of $2.7, reporting diluted earnings per share of $2.43.

QCT Segment Performance
The Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT) segment was a primary driver of this growth, with revenues increasing 11% in Q3 2025 compared to the year-ago quarter. This was largely attributed to higher handset, IoT, and automotive revenues. Handset revenues benefited from a $387 million increase in revenue per chipset, primarily due to higher average selling prices and a favorable mix towards premium-tier Snapdragon platforms.
IoT revenues also contributed positively, driven by increased shipments across edge networking, industrial, and consumer products. The automotive sector experienced significant growth, with revenues boosted by an increase in shipments from new vehicle launches incorporating Snapdragon digital cockpit products.
QTL Segment and Overall Profitability
The Qualcomm Technology Licensing (QTL) segment also reported growth, with revenues rising 4% in Q3 2025 compared to the previous year. This increase was primarily due to higher estimated sales of 3G/4G/5G-based multimode products. The EBT (Earnings Before Taxes) for both the QCT and QTL segments improved, reflecting the higher revenues.
Overall, the company's gross margin percentage remained relatively flat at 56% in Q3 2025. While product costs increased, these were largely offset by higher average selling prices. Research and development expenses decreased slightly, primarily due to higher non-recurring engineering cost reimbursements, despite an increase in employee-related costs.
Outlook and Strategic Initiatives
The company remains optimistic about the adoption of 5G combined with high-performance, low-power computing, and on-device artificial intelligence, expecting these trends to drive expansion into non-handset industries like automotive and IoT. QUALCOMM Incorporated is committed to maintaining its leadership in 5G technology development, standardization, intellectual property creation, and licensing. Furthermore, the company announced a pending acquisition of Alphawave IP Group plc for approximately $2.4 billion, aimed at accelerating its expansion into data centers, with the transaction expected to close in Q1 2026.
