Oklo (OKLO.US) reported a net loss of $24.685 million for Q2 2025, an improvement of 9.5% compared to the net loss of $27.290 million in Q2 2024. The loss per share for Q2 2025 was $(0.18), which exceeded the analyst estimate of $(0.12). The company did not generate any revenue in either period.

Operating Expenses Increase

Total operating expenses for Q2 2025 increased by 57.6% to $28.015 million from $17.771 million in Q2 2024. This rise was primarily driven by a significant increase in General and Administrative (G&A) expenses, which surged by 134.6% to $16.547 million.

The increase in G&A expenses largely reflects a $6.2 million increase in stock-based compensation expense, along with a $1.0 million increase in payroll and employee benefits due to a 77.0% rise in weighted-average headcount. Research and Development (R&D) expenses also increased by 7.0% to $11.468 million, attributed to higher payroll costs and professional services, partially offset by a decrease in stock-based compensation.

Financial Position and Recent Capital Raise

As of June 30, 2025, the company's cash, cash equivalents, and marketable debt securities totaled $683.0 million, a substantial increase from $97.132 million at the end of 2024. This improvement in liquidity was significantly bolstered by a public offering in June 2025, which generated net proceeds of $441.6 million from the sale of 7,666,667 shares of common stock.

The company also noted an increase in interest and dividend income, which grew by 119.2% to $3.761 million in Q2 2025 due to higher cash and marketable debt securities balances.

Strategic Developments and Outlook

Oklo continues to advance its nuclear power initiatives, with the acquisition of Atomic Alchemy in February 2025 aimed at expanding into radioisotope production. The company is actively pursuing regulatory approvals for its Aurora powerhouses and fuel fabrication facilities, including a successful Phase I pre-application readiness assessment with the NRC. The company expects to incur significant operating expenses, with projected net cash used in operating activities for 2025 ranging between $65.0 million and $80.0 million. The deployment of its first Aurora powerhouse is targeted for completion in late 2027 or early 2028.
