AMAT Reports Record Q3 2025 Revenue and EPS Amidst Market Uncertainty
Applied Materials (AMAT.US) reported record performance for the third quarter of fiscal 2025, with non-GAAP diluted EPS reaching $2.48, a 17% increase year-over-year. Revenue also hit a record $7.30 billion, up 8% from the same period last year. The non-GAAP diluted EPS exceeded analyst estimates of $2.34.

Semiconductor Systems Lead Growth
The Semiconductor Systems segment was a significant driver of the company's strong performance, reporting net revenue of $5.43 billion in Q3 FY2025, compared to $4.92 billion in Q3 FY2024. This segment's non-GAAP operating margin improved to 36.4%, up from 35.0% in the prior year.
Growth within Semiconductor Systems was primarily driven by the Flash memory sub-segment, which increased its contribution to 9% of total segment revenue, up from 4% in the prior year. Foundry, logic, and other remained the largest contributor at 69% of segment revenue, while DRAM accounted for 22%.
Management Outlook and Market Dynamics
Despite the record Q3 results, Applied Materials anticipates a decline in revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025, with an outlook of approximately $6.70 billion +/- $500 million. Non-GAAP diluted EPS is projected to be approximately $2.11 +/- $0.20 for the upcoming quarter.
Management cited increased uncertainty and lower visibility in the near term due to a dynamic macroeconomic and policy environment, specifically noting the digestion of capacity in China and non-linear demand from leading-edge customers. However, the company remains confident in the longer-term growth opportunities for the semiconductor industry.
