XPENG (XPEV.US) reported robust financial results for Q2 2025, with total revenues reaching RMB18.27 billion (US$2.55 billion). This marks a significant 125.3% increase year-over-year and a 15.6% increase quarter-over-quarter. The company's non-GAAP net loss for the quarter was RMB0.39 billion (US$0.05 billion), a substantial improvement of 68.4% compared to the same period in 2024 and 9.5% better than Q1 2025. This performance exceeded analyst expectations for both revenue and EPS, indicating strong operational execution.

Strong Vehicle Sales and Margin Expansion

Revenues from vehicle sales were a primary driver of the overall financial performance, totaling RMB16.88 billion (US$2.36 billion) in Q2 2025. This represents a 147.6% increase from Q2 2024 and a 17.5% increase from Q1 2025, primarily due to higher vehicle deliveries. Total deliveries for the quarter reached 103,181 units, up 241.6% year-over-year.

The company also demonstrated significant improvements in profitability, with the vehicle margin increasing to 14.3% in Q2 2025, up from 6.4% in Q2 2024 and 10.5% in Q1 2025. This 7.9 percentage points year-over-year increase and 3.8 percentage points quarter-over-quarter increase were mainly attributable to ongoing cost reduction efforts and an improved product mix. The overall gross margin also rose to 17.3%, a new historical high for XPENG.

Management Outlook and Strategic Initiatives

XPENG's management expressed confidence in continued growth, highlighting record-high performance across key operational and financial metrics. Chairman and CEO Mr. Xiaopeng He stated that upgrades to next-generation technology platforms for smart and electrification technologies further strengthen the company's leadership and will accelerate sales growth. Dr. Hongdi Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and Co-President, emphasized commitment to long-term sustainable growth while improving operational quality and profitability.

For the third quarter of 2025, XPENG anticipates vehicle deliveries to be between 113,000 and 118,000 units, representing a year-over-year increase of approximately 142.8% to 153.6%. Total revenues are projected to be between RMB19.6 billion and RMB21.0 billion, indicating a year-over-year increase of approximately 94.0% to 107.9%. These projections underscore the company's optimistic outlook for sustained momentum.
