Today’s Market Update

Bitcoin was up 1.34% at $112,550, Ethereum was up 0.72%, Solana was down 0.34%, and XRP was up 0.13% over the past 24 hours.

Crypto trader Jelle noted Bitcoin has reclaimed $112,000 after two weeks below the level, now attempting to flip it into support. He said holding this zone is key for near-term upside, with $118,000 the main target.

"Nothing marks a Bitcoin dominance top like a whale rotating into Ethereum," said Joel Valenzuela, core founder of Dash DAO (DASH).

Ted Pillows noted the latest bounce looks strong but is driven largely by perpetual futures volume and aggressive long entries, warning it could be a pre-news bull trap given key macro events and rate-cut odds ahead.

For Ethereum, Pillows marked $4,500 as the make-or-break resistance. A reclaim favors longs, while another rejection would tip momentum back toward shorts.

Cryptoinsightuk highlighted XRP lookiing primed for a move. Solana continues to track CryptosBatman's roadmap with precision, pushing higher and setting up more short-term entries.

Analyst: Bitcoin May Reach Cycle Top in November or December

According to TheDailyHodl, prominent crypto analyst Benjamin Cowen suggests Bitcoin could see “a fairly decent rally” by the end of 2025. Based on historical patterns, as long as Bitcoin’s price holds above or within the bull market support band—a technical indicator combining the 20-week simple moving average (SMA) and 21-week exponential moving average (EMA)—it may peak in November or December.

Cowen notes, “If (Bitcoin) can hold the bull market support band, it could lead to a fairly decent rally in Q4 to cap the current market cycle—all previous cycle tops have occurred during this period: November 2013, December 2017, November 2021. If Bitcoin can hold the band, it could trigger a final rally to the cycle top.”

Stuttgart Stock Exchange Launches Pan-European Tokenized Asset Settlement Platform Seturion

According to Cointelegraph, Europe’s sixth-largest exchange operator, Boerse Stuttgart Group, has launched a blockchain-based settlement platform, Seturion, to handle cross-border transactions of tokenized assets across Europe.

The platform targets banks, brokers, trading venues, and tokenization platforms, supporting both public and private blockchains, with settlements possible in central bank currency or on-chain cash. Local banks have tested it in blockchain trials with the European Central Bank (ECB).

The group stated its own exchange will be the first to integrate, with BX Digital—a DLT trading venue in Switzerland regulated by Stuttgart—already using the solution. Other participants require regulatory approval to join.

Japan Financial Regulator Proposes Including Crypto in Securities Regulatory Framework

Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) released a report on Tuesday proposing to shift crypto regulation from the Payment Services Act to the stricter Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA) framework. This aims to strengthen investor protection, address issues like unclear disclosures, unregistered operations, and security risks, and align crypto with securities regulation.

The report notes Japan has over 12 million crypto accounts with total user deposits of 5 trillion yen (about $33.7 billion). If implemented, token issuers will face stricter disclosure requirements, and intermediary services will undergo tighter oversight. The proposal is an internal briefing document pending final decisions by the Financial System Council and government.

Current criteria require combined securities and deposits of at least 100 million rubles (about $1.23 million) or annual income exceeding 50 million rubles (about $615,800). The specific reduction amount wasn’t disclosed, with the goal of improving accessibility while managing risks.

Bloomberg Analyst: Altcoin ETF Approval Unlikely to Trigger Traditional Altcoin Rally

Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart stated that the current market reflects an altcoin rally driven by Digital Asset Treasury Companies (DATCOs) rather than traditional token price increases. He noted institutional investors prefer multi-crypto basket products over single altcoin ETFs.

Grayscale and Bitwise’s crypto basket products, awaiting SEC approval, include 10 and 5 market-cap-weighted cryptocurrencies, respectively. Seyffart emphasized that institutional funds favor regulated products for crypto exposure over direct token holdings, a structural shift that may permanently alter altcoin rally patterns.
