Quick Look at Apple’s New Product Highlights: Apple Unveils 4 New iPhones at September Event  

A few hours ago, consumer electronics giant Apple held its September product launch. As widely expected, CEO Tim Cook unveiled four new phones, including the iPhone Air, alongside updates to AirPods Pro 3 and three Apple Watch models.  

 

 

For investors, the focus naturally falls on the new iPhones, especially the debut of the iPhone Air.

 

• The iPhone 17 features a 3nm A19 chip, a screen expanded to 6.3 inches, and finally adopts a maximum 120Hz ProMotion (adaptive refresh rate) technology. The rear camera upgrades to a 48-megapixel fused dual-camera system, while the front camera jumps to 18 megapixels, with a significantly larger square sensor adding new selfie features, including Dual Capture (front-rear dual recording).  
• The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max use the A19 Pro chip, which Apple claims offers a 40% performance boost over the A18 Pro, with increased chip cache and memory. All three rear cameras are 48-megapixel fused systems, with the telephoto reaching up to an equivalent 200mm focal length.  

 

Apple also highlighted the Pro series’ thermal design. Both models feature a unibody thermal-forged aluminum frame and an integrated vapor chamber cooling system.  

 

 

Contrary to earlier leaks, the much-anticipated iPhone Air also packs the A19 Pro chip, configured with a 6CPU+5GPU setup. Its standout feature is being the “thinnest iPhone ever,” with a body thickness of just 5.64mm and a weight of about 165 grams.

 

 

It sports a 6.5-inch ProMotion display with a peak outdoor brightness of 3,000 nits—the highest ever for an iPhone. The iPhone Air features ultra-ceramic glass panels on both sides and a titanium alloy frame, providing ample strength for its slim design.  

 

 

All four newly released iPhones come equipped with Apple’s in-house N1 wireless chip, and the iPhone Air also includes an upgraded C1X modem developed by Apple.  

 

Beyond the iPhones, Apple updated its AirPods and Apple Watch lineup at the September event.  

 

AirPods Pro 3 doubles the active noise cancellation of its predecessor, with a redesigned shape for better fit. It features a custom photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to enable heart rate monitoring. Apple’s official website lists AirPods Pro 3 at a price of 1,899 yuan.  

 

 

For Apple Watch, Apple refreshed the Series 11, SE 3, and Ultra 3, all now fully supporting 5G connectivity. From a capital market perspective, two updates may draw attention. First, the Series and Ultra lines add a “high blood pressure notification” feature.

 

Apple explains that the Apple Watch uses optical heart rate sensor data to analyze users’ vascular response to heartbeats. This algorithm runs passively in the background, reviewing 30 days of data and notifying users of persistent high blood pressure signs. The feature is supported on Apple Watch Series 9 and later, as well as Ultra 2 and 3 models.  

 

Additionally, Apple Watch Ultra 3 includes built-in two-way satellite communication, with a redesigned antenna doubling signal strength. When users lack cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, they can now send SMS to emergency services, message loved ones, and share locations.$AAPL
