Tesla, the top stock by trading value on Tuesday, rose 2.82% with $42.279 billion traded. A September 15 SEC filing shows CEO Elon Musk bought over 2.5 million Tesla shares for about $1 billion on September 12.
Previously, Tesla’s board proposed a new compensation plan for Musk, potentially worth nearly $1 trillion, granting up to 423.7 million restricted shares, about 12% of adjusted shares, in 12 tranches. One operational goal to unlock this is delivering 1 million humanoid robots.
Nvidia, second in trading value, fell 1.64% with $23.963 billion traded. On September 15, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation announced further investigation into Nvidia for violating anti-monopoly laws and a 2020 decision on its Mellanox acquisition.
Oracle, third in trading value, rose 1.49% with $15.797 billion traded. On September 15, China’s Vice Minister Li Chenggang said the U.S. and China reached a basic framework on the TikTok issue, with teams continuing to negotiate details.
Reports indicate Oracle is part of a consortium aiming to keep TikTok operational in the U.S. under a potential framework. The deal structure remains unclear, possibly involving multiple companies, with ByteDance’s future role uncertain.
Apple, fourth in trading value, rose 0.62% with $15.101 billion traded. Goldman Sachs’ Apple.com pre-order data shows longer delivery times for all iPhone 17 models globally, with standard and Pro Max models up by 8 days. China’s delivery times rose 17 days to 27 days, supporting Goldman’s 8% iPhone revenue growth forecast for Q4.

Microsoft, fifth in trading value, fell 1.23% with $10.005 billion traded. Microsoft announced a $15 billion investment in the UK for cloud and AI infrastructure, including the country’s largest supercomputer.
Meta Platforms, sixth in trading value, rose 1.87% with $9.045 billion traded. At its Wednesday Connect conference, Meta will focus on AI-driven augmented reality, launching its first consumer smart glasses with a built-in display, priced around $800.
Amazon, seventh in trading value, rose 1.13% with $8.924 billion traded. Amazon set October 7-8 as “Prime Big Deal Days” to kick off the holiday shopping season, offering Prime members exclusive discounts across categories.
Applovin, 12th in trading value, rose 1.8% with $5.057 billion traded, marking seven consecutive trading days of gains, with a cumulative rise over 23%.
UnitedHealth, 14th in trading value, fell 2.33% with $4.307 billion traded. On September 16, Luigi Mangione, suspected of killing UnitedHealth executive Brian Thompson, appeared in a New York court. The judge dismissed two criminal charges in New York, but the second-degree murder charge remains.
Alibaba, 16th in trading value, rose 2.64% with $4.157 billion traded. Reports say Alibaba founder Jack Ma has “returned strongly,” aggressively betting on and promoting AI development, with internal boards displaying “MAGA (Make Alibaba Great Again)” to fulfill this mission.
