Tesla, the top stock by trading value on Wednesday, rose 1.01% with $43.807 billion traded. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) noted that Tesla’s FSD system may malfunction at railroad crossings.

The agency stated it has communicated with Tesla, saying: “We are aware of these incidents and have been in contact with the manufacturer.”

It added: “NHTSA regularly discusses issues with manufacturers, prioritizing the safety of all road users. We continue to analyze consumer complaints to identify potential vehicle safety defect trends and will enforce the Vehicle Safety Act through data-driven, risk-based investigations.”

Nvidia, second in trading value, fell 2.62%, the largest Dow component decline, with $35.854 billion traded.

Palantir, third in trading value, fell 1.13% with $11.434 billion traded. An analyst report warned its valuation is overstretched, stating: “With a P/E ratio just under 600, Palantir’s rubber band is stretched to the limit. Its post-earnings rally shows that despite disconnect from fundamentals, market sentiment has a ceiling.”

Broadcom, fifth in trading value, fell 3.84% with $10.566 billion traded. Lloyds Banking Group and Broadcom announced a multi-year agreement on September 17 to expand their partnership, leveraging Broadcom’s infrastructure software, including VMware Cloud Foundation and mainframe solutions, to enhance digital services for Lloyds’ 28 million UK customers.

Oracle, eighth in trading value, fell 1.71% with $8.257 billion traded. Reports indicate Oracle conducted “large-scale layoffs” in its core MySQL database team, raising concerns about the software’s future.

Alibaba, 15th in trading value, rose 2.44%, hitting a 4-year high, with $4.815 billion traded. A Guosen Securities report noted domestic computing chips are gaining traction, with Alibaba and Baidu increasing adoption and procurement, driving a Davis double-click for the local chip chain. Alibaba’s earnings call revealed a “backup plan” for global AI chip supply and policy changes.

Uber, 17th in trading value, fell 4.99% with $4.11 billion traded. Reports say competitor Lyft will partner with Google’s Waymo to launch autonomous taxi services in Nashville next year, intensifying competition with Uber, which began a similar Waymo partnership in Atlanta in June.

Pinduoduo, 20th in trading value, rose 4.49% with $3.243 billion traded. A Goldman Sachs report noted healthy user engagement in Chinese e-commerce apps, up 13% year-on-year, with stable daily active merchant app usage. The firm favors Pinduoduo, citing Temu’s recovering U.S. GMV and 20% monthly active user growth.
