MS Reports Q3 2025 Profit Surge to $2.80 EPS, Exceeding Analyst Estimates

Robust Segment Performance Drives Revenue Growth
The firm's record net revenues were primarily driven by strong contributions across all business segments and geographies. Institutional Securities reported net revenues of $8.5 billion, reflecting robust performance in Equity and a significant rebound in Investment Banking activity. Wealth Management also delivered record net revenues of $8.2 billion, driven by higher asset management revenues, robust client activity, and increased net interest income.
Investment Management contributed $1.7 billion in net revenues, primarily from asset management fees on higher average Assets Under Management (AUM). Wealth Management demonstrated continued growth with $81 billion in net new assets and $42 billion in fee-based asset flows for the quarter. These results underscore the strength and integrated nature of the firm's diverse business model.
Management Highlights Strong Execution and Durable Growth
Chairman and CEO Ted Pick highlighted the outstanding quarter, emphasizing strong performance across all businesses globally. He noted that consistent execution of their strategy led to record revenues and EPS, along with a Return on Tangible Common Equity (ROTCE) of 23.5%. Total client assets across Wealth and Investment Management collectively reached $8.9 trillion, signaling robust client engagement and asset accumulation.
The company also achieved an expense efficiency ratio of 69% year-to-date, demonstrating operating leverage in a constructive market environment. Management remains committed to generating durable growth and driving long-term value for shareholders. Additionally, the Standardized Common Equity Tier 1 capital ratio stood at 15.2%, reinforcing the firm's strong capital position.
