UBS Reports Q3 2025 Profit Surge, Exceeding Analyst Estimates
UBS (UBS.US) reported a significant increase in its net profit attributable to shareholders for the third quarter of 2025, reaching $2.48 billion. This marks a substantial 74% increase compared to the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter stood at $0.76, notably surpassing the analyst estimate of $0.48.
Total revenues for the quarter also saw an increase, climbing 5% year-over-year to $12.76 billion, reflecting strong performance across its business divisions and strategic initiatives. This robust financial performance highlights the company's strong operational capabilities and effective integration strategies.
Integration Progress and Cost Savings
UBS remains on track with the integration of Credit Suisse, substantially completing the Asset Management integration and advancing Swiss business migrations, with over two-thirds of targeted client accounts migrated. The company realized an additional $0.9 billion in gross cost savings during Q3 2025, bringing cumulative gross cost savings to $10 billion, which represents approximately 77% of its target of $13 billion by the end of 2026.
The Non-core and Legacy business division achieved a 64% reduction in risk-weighted assets (RWA) since Q2 2023, exceeding its 2025 ambition for credit and market risk RWA. This strategic de-risking contributes to a more streamlined and efficient operational structure, supporting future profitability.
Revenue Drivers Across Segments
Total revenues saw a 5% increase to $12.76 billion, primarily fueled by a $687 million increase in net fee and commission income. Recurring net fee income rose 7% to $3.48 billion, driven by higher average levels of fee-generating assets and positive market performance.
Global Markets revenues in the Investment Bank grew 15%, largely due to higher revenues in Financing, particularly Prime Brokerage, supported by increased client balances. This strong segment performance underscores the diversified nature of UBS's revenue streams and its ability to capitalize on market opportunities.
Management Outlook
Management expects net interest income in US dollars to remain broadly stable across Global Wealth Management and Personal & Corporate Banking in the fourth quarter. The year-end 2025 CET1 capital ratio is projected to decrease sequentially due to accruals for intended share repurchases in 2026 and the full-year 2025 dividend.
UBS remains confident in achieving its 2026 financial targets, leveraging its diversified business model and global presence. The company anticipates integration costs of approximately $1.1 billion in the fourth quarter, partially offset by acquisition-related revenues of about $0.5 billion.
