Alphabet Reports Q3 2025 Revenue and EPS Exceeding Estimates Amid Strong Cloud Growth
Alphabet (GOOG.US) reported robust financial results for the third quarter of 2025, with consolidated revenues reaching $102.3 billion, marking a 16% increase year-over-year. This performance surpassed the analyst revenue estimate of $99.93 billion. Net income for the quarter also saw a significant rise of 33%, leading to a diluted EPS of $2.87, outperforming the analyst EPS estimate of $2.30. The company achieved its first-ever $100 billion quarter, driven by double-digit growth across all major business segments.

Strong Segment Performance
Google Services revenues climbed 14% to $87.1 billion, primarily fueled by strong results in Google Search & other, Google subscriptions, platforms, and devices, and YouTube ads. Google Cloud revenues demonstrated even more substantial growth, increasing 34% to $15.2 billion. This growth was propelled by the expansion of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across its core products, AI infrastructure, and Generative AI Solutions.
Other Bets, however, experienced a decline in revenue from $388 million in Q3 2024 to $344 million in Q3 2025. Consolidated Alphabet operating income increased 9%, with an operating margin of 30.5%. Excluding a $3.5 billion charge related to a European Commission fine, operating income would have increased 22%, with an operating margin of 33.9%.
Management Outlook and Strategic Direction
CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted the company's full-stack approach to AI as a key driver of momentum, noting the rapid global rollout of AI Overviews and AI Mode in Search. He also emphasized the significant processing power of their first-party models like Gemini, which now handle 7 billion tokens per minute via direct API use by customers, and the Gemini App, which boasts over 650 million monthly active users.
The company is investing to meet customer demand and capitalize on expanding opportunities, as evidenced by Google Cloud accelerating and ending the quarter with $155 billion in backlog. Management now anticipates 2025 capital expenditures to range between $91 billion and $93 billion. Alphabet also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.21 per share, payable on December 15, 2025.
