Dan Ives, the well-known tech analyst and managing director at U.S. investment bank Wedbush Securities, is super bullish on Tesla's long-term outlook. In a post on X Monday, Ives said that with Tesla pouring resources into its AI projects, the company's market cap could hit $3 trillion in an optimistic scenario by the end of 2026.

Ives pointed out that as autonomous driving and robotics start moving toward real commercialization, Tesla is heading into a critical growth phase.

He sees the market cap reaching $2 trillion by 2026—that's about 33% above current levels—with the upside case pushing to $3 trillion by year-end.

Ives called 2026 Tesla's potential "breakout year."

"Heading into 2026, with the autonomous and robotics chapters opening up, Tesla and Musk are set for a breakout year. We believe as the AI story fully plays out at Tesla, the company will hit a $2 trillion market cap in 2026, with an optimistic scenario reaching $3 trillion by the end of 2026."

At the same time, Ives stuck with his "outperform" rating on Tesla stock and kept the $600 price target.

On Monday, Tesla bucked the trend and rose over 3% to $475.31, bringing its market cap close to $1.5 trillion. Recent unsupervised vehicle tests in Austin, Texas, have fueled the optimism.

Over the weekend, at least two Model Ys were spotted driving on public roads with no safety driver or anyone inside.

Musk confirmed late Sunday on X that the company is testing fully driverless robotaxis.

According to Forbes data, thanks to a big jump in SpaceX's valuation, Musk's net worth surged $168 billion to $677 billion as of Monday midday Eastern Time. He's now the first person ever to hit or surpass $600 billion, taking a huge step toward becoming the world's first trillionaire.

Musk owns about 12% of Tesla, worth roughly $197 billion. If Tesla's market cap reaches $3 trillion as Ives predicts (doubling from now), Musk's stake could add nearly another $200 billion to his fortune.
