The actively managed fund relies on a specialized and experienced team to research complex life sciences companies. It invests in US equity securities identified to have growth potential that meet the criteria of technological advancement, market disruption, or artificial intelligence. The broad life science field includes biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical diagnostics and devices, healthcare services and technologies, and synthetic biology. Stock selection employs an extensive 10-step research process that includes reviews of publicly available and third-party information, peer reviews, financial and valuation models, internal research, surveys, as well as interviews and contact with management, industry and medical professionals, supply chain, and collaboration within the investment team. The fund may invest up to 20% in foreign companies listed on a US exchange.
